Impact on NCCCS Performance

Currently, several
national initiatives are examining accountability in postsecondary
education, with particular
emphasis being given to appropriate performance
measures for community
colleges.Concurrent with these initiatives is a process
initiated by the NC
State Board of Community Colleges to re-examine the
Performance Measures and
Funding System that was enacted in 1999 and
modified in 2008.This session will
present information on the major national
initiatives
including the Voluntary
Framework of Accountability being developed
by the
American Association of
Community Colleges; the National Governor's
Association
Complete to
Compete initiative; the Student Success Task force
authorized
under the Higher Education Opportunity Act; and thework of the
Achieving the
Dream Cross State Data Team. Emphasis will be given to the
measures and
how they may impact the NCCCS Performance Measures and
Funding
system. In addition, a discussion of the
use of momentum points in
addition to
outcome measures in a
comprehensive accountability approach
will be presented.
