10:15 - 11:45 am      Current Colleague Issues: Matthew Smith, Pitt Community College.

                                    There will be some discussion anout data integrity issues, reporting challenges and possible solutions, including a discussion of R18. Challenges related to queries and I-descriptors as we migrate to R18 will be discussed with possible solutions to these challenges.

1:00 - 2:30 pm          Worry-Free Space Utilization Report: Debbie Paul, Randolph Community College; Clarice Crotts, Randolph Community College.

This session will give those responsible for submitting the annual ISUR to the State Commission on Higher Education Facilities information needed to generate a worry-free report in Colleague, including a step-by-step demonstration. The presenters are highly recommmended by the staff at the Higher Education Facilities Commision in Chapel Hill.

                                    National Student Clearinghouse, StudentTracker Program: Where do your students go to college when they leave you?: John Ward, National Student Clearinghouse; Mary Ellen Goldstein, Mitchell Community College.

The presenter will demonstrate a program for electronically accessing a database containing records of 15 million currently enrolled students and 75 million formerly enrolled students at over 2,800 U.S. colleges and universities. The StudentTracker program may be used by institutional researchers, registrars, admissions officers, financial officers and others who want to quickly and inexpensively verify the enrollment in other postsecondary institutions of their prospective, current, and former students. This process improves upon traditional methods of student interviews and surveys, increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of student recruitment and retention analysis. The presentation will include examples of how one North Carolina community college uses StudentTracker-sourced data on graduates and early leavers in its analysis of institutional effectiveness.

2:45 - 4:15 pm          Internal Data Warehouse: Karen Ritter, Guilford Technical Community College.

This session will include a discussion about data warehousing and how it can simplify your research and reporting tasks. A demonstration will follow of how GTCC created their own internal data warehouse using Query Builder to extract data from Colleague.
